Meet the Marvellous Management team

George Pretorius

It takes a certain kind of man with strong, silent leadership directed by God our Creator, to captain a ship like the Ark. This man is our captain, George Pretorious. You are loved and respected by many inside the Ark and also out there. Thank you for having committed your time and energy in service to others. A true inspiration and example of God's word in action

Rob Donkin

Rob is our Spiritual leader and counselor and has been with the Ark for 10 years. Rob has seen it all and then some during this time. Rob leads devotion on a daily basis and Praise and Worship is inside our chapel on Wednesdays and Sundays. We value your dedication and patience and thank you, our brother for your guidance and perseverance.

Jacques Beeslaar

Jacques our logistics manager, is responsible for making sure our people get to their appointments, doctors visits and social grant pick ups. Residents get taken to town on shopping days and dropped and fetched at the respective clinics and hospitals. Daily food and donation collection is part and parcel of the job. The days start as early as 4 am sometimes and end after sunset. Without Jacques' selfless dedication to his mission and calling here at the Ark, not much will move. Thank you . our brother for your hard work.i

The Ark is a Christian ministry, housing around 90 men from all walks of life. Some of our residents are pensioners with no willing or able relatives to take care of them, others are forgotten brothers and spouses that have no place to call home outside the Ark. This is a place of surprising homeliness and calm, far removed from the world out there that has rejected us. The Ark is a shining beacon of hope and new beginnings for many of us. We may be homeless, but we are never helpless. George Pretorius is the captain of our ship of 80 sailors finding purpose and family in rough seas. The Ark is a purpose filled community that endeavors to uplift broken souls and help them find direction through bible based principles and manifesting God back into our lives. Whether by economic or spiritual ruin, we were all put here together as a support of brothers in Christ building a better life, one day at a time.

Praise and worship takes place on Wednesdays and Sundays in our church on the premises.

We all have a story to tell and ultimately our goal is to turn our lives around. The Ark has a superbly interactive discipleship course, where we aim to find biblical commonality, understanding God’s word and how to apply it in our everyday lives. We have a collective goal of empowerment and The Ark has been blessed with generous donations and new projects in recent months.
